Persoonlijke stralingsdetector / stralingsmeter
NeutronRAE II is de eerste persoonlijke stralingsdetector / stralingsmeter voor snelle detectie van zowel gamma (γ)-straling als neutronenbronnen, zelfs in mogelijk brandbare omgevingen.
De NeutronRAE II is gecertificeerd als intrinsiek veilig en onder te dompelen in water voor chemische ontsmettingsdoeleinden en kan veilig worden gebruikt in meer omgevingen dan enige andere persoonlijke gamma- en neutronenstralingsdetector.
De NeutronRAE II is ontworpen voor gebruik onder moeilijke omstandigheden. Hij is onderdompelbaar (IP67) in water, zodat hij eenvoudig kan worden ontsmet, en de stootvaste behuizing beschermt de detector wanneer hij valt. De tweeknopsbediening is zo ontworpen de NeutronRAE II het zelfs kan worden gebruikt in beschermende pakken van beschermingsklasse A met twee lagen handschoenen.
De NeutronRAE II heeft een snelle responstijd voor zowel de neutronen- als de gammastraling. Het alarm kan worden ingesteld om te werken in de zoekmodus ("Search Mode") op basis van lokale achtergrond-stralingsniveaus of in de veiligheidsmodus ("Safety Mode"), wat hoge en lage alarmniveaus biedt op basis van absolute doses.
Geigerteller
Een giegerteller is in het algemeen een aparaat welke met een geiger- muller buis werkt. Door aanwezigheid van radiactiviteit zal dat en klik geluid gehoord worden die evenredig is met de straling. Bij de Bij de NeutronRAE || is weliswaargeen geiger-muller buis ingebouwt maar het toetsel geeft wel het geluid zodat het zoeken naar gamma stralen alsmede neutronenstraling eenvoudig wordt.
